Dorothy C. Pacimeo-Comodore

Vice-President & Licensed Funeral Director

For more than fifty years, Dorothy Comodore has devoted her life to serving families with compassion, dignity, and unwavering care. As a licensed funeral director and longtime Vice-President of McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, Dorothy has guided generations of Long Island families through some of their most difficult moments. She also previously served as CEO of New York Atlantic Funeral Services, bringing leadership, professionalism, and heartfelt
commitment to every role she held.

Dorothy’s calling to funeral service began early. She graduated from Farmingdale College in 1974 with her degree in Mortuary Science, completed her residency at Bayport Funeral Home,
and became fully licensed in 1975. In a time when very few women entered the profession, Dorothy was one of only six women in her Mortuary Science program — a pioneer whose perseverance helped open doors for the many women who now serve in funeral service today. She later continued her education at Dowling College, earning her Bachelor of Science and induction into the Alpha Chi Honor Society.

Throughout her career, Dorothy has been active in her professional community, serving on the board for Nassau-Suffolk Funeral Directors Association, the New York State Funeral Directors Association, and the National Funeral Directors Association, where she earned the Certified Funeral Service Practitioner (CFSP) designation in 2016. In 2025, she was honored by the NYSFDA for 50 years of dedicated service.

A lifelong Long Island resident, Dorothy lives with her husband Gregory, celebrating twenty wonderful years together and the joy of eight grandchildren. After retiring from daily responsibilities in 2023, she now enjoys traveling, volunteering with local food banks, and spending cherished time with her family.

Dorothy remains deeply grateful for the trust families have placed in her over the decades. She considers it a privilege to have served her community with love, support, and compassion — and continues to be part of McManus-Lorey Funeral Home’s mission of caring for families when they need it most.

Michael Gorton

Licensed Funeral Director

Michael J. Gorton, Jr., knew he wanted to be a funeral director at a young age. As a young boy he recalls running around the funeral home after his uncle and godfather, Charles Lorey, wondering what he was doing. He remembers watching hearses pull in the courtyard of Morton Funeral Home in Ridgewood, Queens after funerals.

When Michael was getting ready to choose a college, he knew he wanted to go to school that would give him the best education and put him in the best position to help people. He chose St. John’s University and enrolled in their Mortuary Science program. For four years Michael attended the Queens campus of St. John’s getting his Bachelor of Science in Funeral Service Administration and minoring in Business Administration. One of the years was spent in NYC studying at American Academy McAllister Institute of Funeral Service. Michael graduated in the Spring of 1995 from St. John’s ready to serve those in need.

Following graduation, before Michael could become licensed in the State of New York, he had to do a one year residency in a funeral home. He chose to continue his training at the same funeral home his uncle did, Morton Funeral Home. In the early fall of 1997, Michael was licensed by the State of New York to practice funeral directing.

In February of 1998 he decided to join the family funeral home in Medford, NY and become a director under his aunt and uncle at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home. Michael has cherished his time working under his aunt and uncle, learning the ropes of a family business while giving every family the utmost care and attention that they deserve. No family is alike and Michael prides himself at working to be part of each family that trusts him and McManus-Lorey Funeral Home with the care of their loved one. Michael has always said, “I truly enjoy working with each family to honor their loved one they entrust us to care for. If I can make them feel at ease and perhaps take a burden off of their shoulders, then I have done my service to them at the worst possible time in their lives.

Michael has been involved in the Medford community for a very long time. He has served on community round tables with legislative leaders, he is a past president of Medford Chamber of Commerce.

In July of 2020, Michael was elected President of the Nassau Suffolk Funeral Directors Association. He has served on the board in various positions including Vice-President, Bylaws, Nomination, Health Facilities liaison as well as co-chairperson on the EDRS Ad Hoc Committee. In 2023, after serving 3 years as President of NSFDA, stepped down to focus on being an officer with New York State Funeral Directors Association (NYSFDA).

In August of 2022 Michael was elected Secretary of NYSFDA. In 2023 he was elected Tresaurer and in 2024 he was elected to President-Elect, the office he currently serves. Michael is currently the President of NYSFDA where he was elected and instaleed as the presiednt in August of 2025. In 2017, Michael was selected to be apart of the New York State Funeral Directors Association Leadership Academy. He graduated in in August of 2018. He is the past Chairperson with NYSFDA Tribute Foundation. He is also part of the Bridge Commission among other committees with NYSFDA.

Michael lives in Rocky Point, with his wife, Melissa and their son, Gabe. Michael is involved in his community at home where he served as President, Treasurer and currently the secretary of the North Shore Beach Association. Michael serves as the Scout Master with Troop 244 in Rocky Point.

In Michael’s free time he enjoys days at the beach in Rocky Point, cooking BBQ for friends and family, relaxing in his backyard and drinking local craft beer and local wine.

Christian Lorey

Licensed Funeral Director

Christian C. Lorey, NYS Licensed Funeral Director. For most of my young life, funeral directing was never an interest of mine. I often thought about where I would fit in as a career that I would enjoy. After graduating high school in 2001, a love of cars and trucks brought me to pursue a career in the automotive industry. I attended Universal Technical Institute in Phoenix, AZ shortly after high school and graduated in 2003. Started my first career as an Automotive Technician at Sunrise Toyota in Oakdale, NY. During the 5 years that I worked at Sunrise Toyota I met my wife Siobhan. In 2008 I left Toyota and made the decision to try working in the funeral industry at our family funeral home, McManus-Lorey Fuenral Home. In September of 2008 I enrolled in the Mortuary Science Program at Nassau Community College and began my journey to become a licensed Funeral Director. Graduated from Nassau Community College in 2011 and became licensed in NYS in 2013 becoming 2nd generation Licensed Funeral Director in the family. Shortly after graduating I married my wife Siobhan and soon purchased our first home in Ridge, NY. Our son Conor Patrick Lorey was born March 19, 2014. We currently reside in the neighborhood of Lake Panamoka in Ridge, NY.
