Rita Edith Auer, age 86, of Farmingville died Thursday, August 8, 2019 at Long Island Community Hospital of East Patchogue, NY.  Mrs. Auer was born September 2, 1932 in Breslau, Germany.  She is the daughter of the late Friedrich and the late Gertrude (Koehler) Scholz.  She was predeceased by her husband, Herbert H.  Auer and her son Harold Auer.

She is survived by one daughter: Monica H. Curtis of Medford, NY and one son: Glenn Auer; Eight grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Visiting hours will be Sunday, August 11 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 - 9:00 PM at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY.

The funeral will be held 11:30 am on Monday, August 12 at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY.  Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton on Monday.
