Peerapong "Chai" Sornchai, age 66 of Medford died Tuesday September 22nd, 2020 at Good Shepherd Hospice in Port Jefferson, NY following a tenacious battle with colon cancer. He was born to the late Somboon and Vong Sornchai in Chiang Mai, Thailand on January 9th, 1954.

Peerapong was a proud graduate of Iowa State University with a bachelor's degree in architecture.

Peerapong cherished his family and is survived by his wife; Misty of Medford, Adam (Jessica) of Cardington, OH, Alexander (Kristina) of Lindenhurst, Lexie of Medford, his four grandchildren; Lailah, Alessandra, Vincent, and Lane, his mother, Vong of Chiang Mai, Thailand, sisters; Yanee Greenwood of Houston, TX, Weena Kohler of Aix-en-Provence, France, and Naphat Sornchai of Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Peerapong was preceded in death by his father Somboon and first wife Susan.

Friends may call on Tuesday September 29th, from 4-8 pm at McManus Lorey Funeral Home 2084 Horseblock Rd. Medford, NY 11763. Funeral service will be on Wednesday September 30th, 10:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Port Jefferson Station with the Rev. Adam Sornchai preaching and the Rev. Paul Downing Presiding. Interment will follow at Washington Memorial Park in Mt. Sinai, NY.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Peerapong's memory to the American Cancer Society or Honor Flight.
