Margaret Harrington affectionately known to all as Peggy, age 86, of Farmingville, New York. Died Friday, June 19, 2026. Margaret was born May 9, 1940 in Castleblayney County Monaghan, Ireland and immigrated in 1960. A Dedicated member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Circle of Friends and The Columbiettes. Peggy worked for over 25 years as a school crossing guard for Suffolk County Police Department. After retiring she enjoyed activities in the Circle of Friends group at the Church of The Resurrection.Peggy loved to play card games with her family and was very competitive. It was one of her most treasured activities with her kids and grandkids.

Wife of James J. McPhillips and was predeceased by her beloved James P. Harrington. Also survived by her loving children, Rita A. Enright (Patrick), James P. Harrington, Eileen T. McDougal (Chris), Daniel P. Harrington (Jennifer) and Sean N. Harrington (Nicolle). Cherished Grandchildren, Meaghan, Patrick, Deirdre, Aidan, Brynne, Delaney, Corinne, Ryan, Shannon, Courtney, Conor, Brady, Jameson, Kellen. Great Grandchildren, Rory and Finn. Her adored siblings, Rose Begley, Patrick Brady, Bridie Dempsey, Josie Brady, Eileen Walsh, Rita Feeney. Margaret is also survived by her many Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by her siblings Michael Brady, James Brady, John Brady, Mary Dennehy and Kathleen Gilsenen.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM & 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM at the McManus-Lorey Funeral Home 2084 Horseblock Rd. Medford, NY 11763. Deacon James DiGiovanna will offer a prayer service at 2:45 Pm on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at the funeral home There will be an Ancient Order of Hibernians service at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at the funral home. The St. Sylvester Columbiettes service will be at 7:30 PM on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Church of the Resurrection in Farmingville, NY. Burial will follow in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, New York.
