John J. Ficalora, Sr., age 60, of Medford died Thursday, November 8, 2018. Predeceased by his parents Frank Ficalora and Agatha Ficalora.

He is survived by his beloved wife Janet E. Ficalora. Loving father of Melissa , John, Jr. and Robert. Adored brother of Palma DePinto and Agatha Venturino. Cherished grandfather of Aubrey and Alex.

As one of John's final requests, he asked for anyone coming to his wake to not wear black and to not wear a neck tie as John didn't like wearing them himself. He wants all his friends and family to be comfortable during this time.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking for donations to be made in memory of John to either the ASPCA or any animal rescue or to any cancer research and treatment centers of your choosing.

Visitation will be Sunday, November 11 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 - 9:00 PM and Monday, November 12 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM & 7:00 - 9:00 PM at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY.
