Mr. James Casserly, age 53, of Farmingville, NY, passed away, August 18th, 2015 at Stony Brook University Medical Center. Mr. Casserly had worked at Suffolk Life Newspapers until it's closing and most recently volunteered his time at the Outreach Program at Resurrection Parish in Farmingville, NY.
He was the cherished husband of Donna Casserly and beloved son of Margaret Casserly and the late Gerry Casserly. He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Donna, as well as his mother and eight siblings, Gerry Casserly, Margaret Murphy, Sara Chiominto, Eileen Collins, Peter Casserly, Theresa Chiominto, Cathleen Seefried and Patricia Lipari.
James was a loving and giving man who had no children but was a beloved uncle rich in love with 15 nieces and nephews, 14 great nieces and nephews as well as two great-great Nieces and one great-great nephew, by whom he will be greatly missed. He was not only loved by family, but was adored bu a wide range of friends as well. He was loyal member of the Knights of Columbus, Resurrection of Our Lord Council 11871 in Farmingville where he was proud to be a 3rd Degree Knight.
The arrangements have been entrusted to the care of McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford, NY. Visitation at the funeral home will be on Saturday, August 22, 2015 and Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 2:00 - 4:00 PM and 7:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral service will be on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 9:15 from the funeral home. Funeral mass will follow at the Church of the Resurrection, 50 Granny Road, Farmingville, NY at 10:00 AM. The burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Coram, NY.
