George Follmer, aged 96, of Zephyrhills, Florida passed from this life March 23, 2017. He was born in Long Island, New York but made Zephyrhills his home for many years. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a longtime employee of the Patchogue-Medford School district and a fireman in Medford for many years. He was predeceased by his wife Ann and daughter Laura. George leaves behind his sisters Rosemary Neidig, Sister Laura Follmer, son Mark, five grandchildren, many cousins and their families, as well as his best friend Donald Johnson. He enjoyed golfing and breakfasts with his friends and lived life with a joyful and generous heart. He will be interred in Farmingdale, NY next to his wife Ann in a private family ceremony at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home on April 28, 2017.
