Dorothy E. Larcombe, age 92, a long-time resident of Brookhaven, died Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Brookhaven Memorial Hospital in East Patchogue, NY. Born April 4, 1925 in Woonsocket, RI to the late Mark E. and Helen Smith, Mrs. Larcombe, affectionately known as Dot, was a loving and devoted wife to her late husband George B. Staples, and is survived by their 3 children, Peggy, Linda & Jim, as well as her second husband, the beloved late Martin Larcombe, and his surviving children, Anna, Martin, Barbara and Diane. Dear sister to Mark E. Smith. Predeceased by her sisters Laura Dupre and Frances Hogan. Cherished grandmother of 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Survived by many nieces and nephews. A private cremation was held under the direction of the McManus-Lorey Funeral Home, 2084 Horse Block Road, Medford. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Bellport United Methodist Church, 185 South Country Road, Bellport. In lieu of flowers, Dorothy's family requests donations in her memory be made to the Bellport United Methodist Church, PO Box 460, Bellport, New York 11713, of which she was a long-standing member.
