Dorothy Farrell (nee Short) on February 9, 2018 of Farmingville and Astoria NY. Loving wife of Ed Farrell. Dorothy worked for General Electric Company for over thirty five years. She was a proud graduate of Marymount Manhattan College and she also earned a masters degree from Baruch Graduate School. She enjoyed painting and craft classes at Sachem Library. Dorothy devoted her retirement years to teaching english to underprivileged foreign students and conducted religious instruction classes at her parish. She leaves in addition to her husband Ed, her sister Patricia Short Dwyer and John Dwyer. Visiting hours are Monday 2-4 & 7-9 PM at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home 2084 Horseblock Road, Medford, NY. Funeral Tuesday 9:15 AM from the funeral home. Mass Tuesday 10:00 AM at RC Church of The Resurrection, Farmingville, NY. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
