Blanche Josephine Scalisi, Age 86 of Glen Oaks passed away on Wednesday morning August 24, 2022 in Holtsville, NY

Funeral Mass will be held at  St. Sylvester's Church, Medford, NY on Monday, August 29, 2022 @9:30am. A private cremation will follow after mass. Visitation will be held at McManus-Lorey Funeral Home on Sunday, August 28, 2022 from 3:00pm to 7:00pm

Blanche was born at the "Lying-In Hospital" in the City of New York to mother Mabel DeRuggiero and father Andrew Scalisi on January 13,1936

Blanche attended Evanander-Childs H.S. and graduated in 1953. Blanche went on to earn a certificate in Business & Secretarial School. Blanche worked as legal secretary in Manhattan for over 30years until 9/11.

Blanche enjoyed attending daily mass at her church, Our Lady of the Snows in Floral Park. Blanche also was a volunteer at Long Island Jewish Medical Center following her retirement.

Blanche has joined her son Randy who pre-deceased her and she is survived by her daughter Lynne, son-in-law Joe, daughter-in-law Susan LaBollita, 5 grandchildren, Lauren, Thomas, Christopher, Jessica, Kristi, and 2 great-grandchildren, Isabella & Kody. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Blanche came from a large Italian Family. She was the 9th of 10 children and was preceded in death by all of her siblings of whom she often spoke of with great affection.

The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to all of Blanche's family and friends who have called, stopped by or visited with her during these past many months.
